Lorraine Heller-Nicholas UTITLED
Opening: Tuesday 02 August, 6-8pm Dates: 2-20 August 2005Lorraine Heller-Nicholas is an Australian cross-disciplinary artist, working in drawing, animation, print and digital media. Heller-Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Arts (Media Arts) from RMIT and a Diploma of Visual Art from Swinburne. She is a qualified librarian.
She has been awarded studio residencies at Listhus, Iceland (2015), the Pan Summer studio, Pantocractor Gallery, M50 Shanghai (2014), at Taipai Artist Village, Taiwan (2006) and at Laughing Waters Artist in Residence, Eltham, supported by Parks Victoria and Nillumbik Shire Council. (2013). She was funded by ArtsVictoria to travel to Brazil to be exhibit in Southern Panaramas, 18th International Contemporary Art Festival, Videobrasil, Brazil (2012). She was a founding member of dotmov screen collective and Tape Projects (2004-2008).
Heller-Nicholas has been exhibiting in Australia and internationally since 2001. Recent exhibitions include Love Triangle at Little Woods Gallery (2015), CoupleStalking at c3 Contemporary Artspace (2015), Romance Traces at Tinning Street (2014) Pantocractor Summer, M50, Shanghai (2014), Rooftop Transmissions - Melbourne Now, Rooftop Cinema. Presented by Channels Festival and National Gallery of Victoria as part of the Melbourne Now exhibition program (2014), Video Visons: Constructed Worlds + Bodies Collide, Channels: the Australian video art festival, ACMI, (2013), Ikono On Air Festival, Berlin, TV in over 30 countries and online (2013), Love Story, Obscura Gallery (2012), I am Heathcliff, Daine Singer Gallery (2012), Loves Me Not, No No Gallery, (2011), and Basic Instinct, Karen Woodbury Gallery (2011).
